The BioSPC Doctoral School awards this year its very first ELAN Prize to Alberto IANNUZO (Institut Cochin, INSERM U1016, IMMUNO department). The prize will be officially presented at the BioSPC Forum on 19 and 20 November 2026.

A very strong first edition

Launched in 2026, the first edition of the ELAN BioSPC Prize received 22 applications from doctoral candidates who defended their thesis in 2025 within the doctoral school. This figure reflects the engagement and scientific excellence of the young generation trained at BioSPC.

A transparent evaluation process

The evaluation was conducted by a 10-member parity jury bringing together 5 BioSPC department directors and 5 doctoral representatives. Each dossier was scored individually against a grid of 9 weighted criteria covering scientific production, thesis quality and contribution, communications, teaching, scientific outreach, institutional engagement, mobility, distinctions and professional vision. The scores produced an intermediate ranking, followed by a final deliberation among the top 5 dossiers, which allowed the jury to designate the laureate by consensus.

Alberto IANNUZO will present his doctoral work in a 15-minute oral communication at the BioSPC Forum on 19 and 20 November 2026, where the prize will be officially presented.
