LEARNING GOALS
A doctorate leads to a multitude of careers, but many doctoral students don’t know where to go for information. They feel isolated and lack the time to prepare their future. However, there is a growing number of initiatives to help doctoral students pursue their careers.
The PhDOOC association is offering doctoral students and PhDs a MOOC, a free online course designed to raise awareness of existing and accessible tools and resources. This collaborative training program enables them to progress at their own pace, in line with their time constraints and availability, and with the support of a community.
The aim is to create a space for information, exchange and mutual support on the subject of career development for doctors.
CONTENT AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Help doctoral students build their skills portfolio
Raise awareness of possible post-doctoral careers
Give them the means to develop their professional project
Help them build their communication tools
Train them in the job search process
Foster the creation of a community based on sharing, collaboration and mutual support.
Enable participants to develop their network
The MOOC is organized into 5 Units :

- Skills
- Careers and professional project
- Networking and hidden market
- Job applications and open market
