The Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (FRM) is renewing its “Contrat doctoral” call for proposals in 2026, aimed at funding approximately thirty 3-year doctoral contracts for the 2025-2026 academic year. This call for proposals is strictly reserved for doctoral schools whose research themes align with the FRM’s mission.
In this context, our doctoral school ED 562 (BIOSPC) is eligible for:
- The “Contrat doctoral FRM” call for proposals and may submit 6 candidates (see the Call for Proposals at the bottom of this article).
- The Béziat-Rouanet Thesis Prize in Cardiology and may submit 1 candidate (see the Call for Proposals at the bottom of this article)
IMPORTANT: ONLY ONE APPLICATION PER HOST TEAM MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE DOCTORAL SCHOOL.
APPLICANT: FUTURE PHD STUDENT
- Applicant profile: Scientific or medical background (physician, pharmacist, veterinarian, medical intern, pharmacy intern, dentistry intern, or veterinary student) and holder of a Master 2 research degree or equivalent by the start of funding.
- Affiliation with Université Paris Cité: Mandatory enrollment in the first year of a PhD in Science for the 2026-2027 academic year (potentially in joint supervision).
- The proposed research projects may cover any field of research in biology and health.
- An applicant cannot apply for both a “Contrat doctoral” and a “Thesis position for interns and assistants” simultaneously.

NEW APPLICATION SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
The application file is now composed of two separate forms, both of which must be completed to validate the application:
1. “PROJECT LEADER” FORM (to be filled by the HDR supervisor) This form collects scientific details. Prepare the text in advance (no PDF for the project).

- Required information: Project title and project description, including bibliography (max 6,000 characters, plain text, no formatting).
2. “CANDIDATE” FORM (to be completed by the student) This form allows the candidate to submit their administrative documents.

- Document to attach: A single PDF file (named: EtudiantLASTNAME_Firstname_SupervisorLASTNAME_Firstname) containing, in order: Resume, L3/M1 academic transcripts and ranking, Internship certificates, Student employment certificate (if applicable).
DEADLINE AND SELECTION
Both forms must be submitted no later than March 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM. After this deadline, no additional applications or documents will be accepted.
On March 13, 2026, the doctoral school will contact the selected candidates, who will then have just over two weeks to finalize their application on the FRM website: Final submission deadline: March 26, 2026. Selected candidates will receive instructions for the next steps via email.
COMMITMENT Candidates participating in this call for proposals agree to the following: If a candidate is awarded an “FRM doctoral contract” but also secures a ministry-funded doctoral contract through the doctoral school competition, they must withdraw from the latter and accept the FRM contract.
